The Mayan New Year of 5 Muluc -  July 26, 2010

On July 26, 2010, we joyfully celebrated the Mayan New Year of 5 Muluc or Red Overtone Moon. . So you may ask, where will Muluc, the watery, flowing, intuitive Moon Daykeeper, lead us in the coming year? Also, with 2012 just around the corner, how can the gifts of this year’s Daykeeper help you prepare for the coming changes on our planet?

The Messages of Muluc for this Year

                   
The Moon Pool
The Daykeeper Muluc showers you with gentle raindrops and floats you along in her watery current - ever changing and shaping yourself in the moods and patterns of everything you meet. Feelings and emotions can be strong in the tides of the moon’s cycles – ebb and flow, ebb and flow. So as we enter this Muluc year, if you can trust and dive deep down into and through the currents of Muluc’s watery feeling space, she will open the depths of your sensitive, intuitive knowing to you. If you surrender to her swift currents and even to her whirlpools, she will gently guide your way, winding here and there, until you reach your own silent, clear, lotus-flowered pool of re-membrance. As you come to stillness and gaze deeply into your moonlit pool, you can remember, once again, who you really are. This deep heart re-cognition of your real nature – both human and Divine – comes as Muluc’s special gift to you when you willingly set the boat of your life in her flowing waters.

Art, Dreams and Intuition
If you choose to heed Muluc’s silvery call, you can journey with the tools she loves – art, music, sound and color, and all things creative; dreams, archetypes and your own feelings and heart knowing. The night-loving moon will sing to you in your dreams, if you choose to listen and remember. She also flows through the watery plant beings and plays with the elemental spirits of Nature, so rejoice in the dance of a mountain stream, or the healing balm of a succulent herb, or the dance of firefly fairies in a moonlit summer meadow as you make your way through the coming year.

Connection with Nature
Muluc’s very symbol (above) rising in the shape of a sacred monolith, alerts you to her other major function. Muluc works powerfully as a beacon of the creative energies of the Goddess. You may feel filled with the waters of creativity this year – just as you feel bathed in the moon’s watery iridescent rays on a full moon night. Sacred sites and areas that hold Muluc’s energy, such as the city of Asheville, NC, have important functions as receivers and transmitters of the flow of cosmic energies. Those of you who live in or visit these places will have the chance to gift powerful healing and activation to the elemental beings, the mountains and waters, and also the humans who live within their sphere of influence during this Muluc time.

Challenges of a Muluc Day or Year
Some of the challenges of Muluc’s nature may also come up for us to resolve this year. In Muluc’s shadow, you are out of touch with your moon pool of intuitive guidance and self-knowing. Thus you may overlook the signs Spirit is sending you in your dreams and meditations and feelings. You may think you need to turn to others to get your answers or to guide your life. Or you might drift along in the soothing flow of Muluc's watery river and fall asleep spiritually. Then you are in danger of not guiding the powerful flow of the etheric waters of life and bring caught in emotional whirlpools or being swept onto the rocks of old subconscious emotional patterns.

Or you can be overwhelmed by the stormy intensity of our Cauac (Storm) world changes that are being accelerated by the Cardinal Climax alignment of the powerful outer planets this summer. Cauac stands as the Daykeeper opposite Muluc in the Medicine Wheel of this year and so can bring the most challenging type of energies to deal with in a Moon time.

Sometimes under the pressure of Cauac, the Moon Daykeeper can brings up your self judgment – maybe because the extreme sensitivity of emotion that the waters of Muluc are colored with can dredge up old wounds and doubts. If you let yourself get caught up in these emotions you can feel insecure and alone, or just want to go into eclipse, hide your light, and wait in a cave until it’s all over.

The Number Five - The Pillar of Your Being
The number Ho, or five, as the other half of this year's main energy, calls on us to stand in the core of our being and be immovable in the strength of the core pillar of our Spirit Self. If we can daily strengthen our pillar of light and stand more firmly in it, then we can move in the intense currents of this transforming world without being pulled into their whirlpools or eddies.

Your Support for the Year, Oc – Love and Community
To deal with these challenges of Muluc energy, you can also ask the help of Oc, the Dog, the Supporting Daykeeper in this year’s Mayan Medicine Wheel. The loyal, open heart of Oc draws to us companions of destiny on all levels. These companions, whether they are spiritual guides on other dimensions or loyal friends on this one, recognize who you truly are. They help you come into your Self Remembrance once again. This is a good time in the Earth’s history to find your true Soul Family of beings and to draw them close. These kinds of supportive groups and communities ease our hearts and create sacred spaces for the healing of our wounds and also for the flowering of our creativity that should be pouring forth with Muluc’s tides in these coming years.

Flowing Toward 2012
So many people have asked me what the wisdom and insight of the Mayan Elders and Star Beings say about 2012 and what it will bring for us. In their prophecies, 2012 is not the end of the calendar as some say. It is the ending of one large 26,000-year cycle and the beginning a great new one, which the Mayan wisdom calls The Age of Flowers. Their answer to these questions about what the transition will be like is always the same – the nature of the coming transition is up to us. As humans we are the key – we are the link that can either powerfully hold the waves of the new frequencies of energy we are now receiving from the Creator in the Galactic Core and step that energy down in a way that our Gaia Mother’s body and being can joyfully raise on it to new heights in the coming age - or we can ignore the messages and continue to damage our Earth Mother and focus on small selfish goals and therefore force her to create a healing crisis and a very rough transition.

The scope of this transition can seem a bit daunting sometimes. But please hear the ancient ones and our loving Spirit guides as they tell you – do not get caught in feeling powerless or helpless. This is not the time for escalating your fears or being caught in pessimism or despair. What is important is that you stand in Love and in the Light, in Your Light. Hold strong to your community of helpers and spirit friends. Let Muluc help you develop your intuition so that you may confidently guide your boat along the flows of life over the coming years. Open to self-knowledge. Know that you are not being asked to do it all – to save the world single handedly. It can be amazingly strengthening to know your own task, the soul purpose that brought you here. Then you can focus on accomplishing your task with joy and creativity and beauty and grace. When each of us moves forward and does our piece, then the laws of interconnectedness will magnify those individual pieces and together we can indeed have a smooth paddle in the currents of time, down to the shores of the New Age and the Dawning Sun there.
